Stochastic Analysis

'Stochastic Analysis'
Image size ?'w x ?" h - Engraving
Circa 1896

This engraving is probably from an original oil painting by Frank.

Many years ago, when I was an electrical engineering student, I had a friend, John King, who committed suicide. One evening he was in my room - (within a students hostel) - while I was studying for an exam the next day. He did not say much, but after leaving, he electrocuted himself a few hours later within his room.

He often discussed suicide, seemingly from a theoretical perspective. I was relatively immature and unaware that there was any real problem. As he was gifted at mathematics this is the basis of the temporary title.

Footnote 8 Jan 2017:

On going through some old emails to see if there has been anything missed, I found an email with some images from Linda Clark, Canada, received On 1st March 2010.

On one of the photos of this image, an engraving of which had been in the possession of her grandfather was inscribed:
London Published August 1st 1896 by Henry Voll & Company, 26 Finsbury Paremont, E.C. and entered according to the Act of Congress in the year 1896 in the office of the Librarian of Congress at Washington Copyright registered.
So a belated thankyou to Linda, as this engraving can now be dated.
