OVERALL STATISTICS - 1981
"In the year ending 31st March, 1981 the Committee generated 84,844,640 units. The Board bought 276,582,724 units and the Council 45,935,424 units but they had a total of 20,516,560 units from Omanawa and 4cLaren Falls Stations. The net import from NZE was 217,114,948 units. The Board's power bill for the year was $8,187,479.08 and the Council's, $80,803.40.
Once Ruahihi has been operating for one full year the Committee should generate about half of its total energy requirements. The peak load of the Board is approximately 60MW and that of the Council, 15MW. The peak demand on the State is about 40MW. The Committee's generating capability is approximately equal to the maximum demand of the area on the State system."
