'Taking the Log'

This cute little oil sketch is signed by Frank. On the back, as partially illustrated, Frank has written: "Taking the Log", August 1908, Frank Hyde to Captain Roberts RNR. Presumably it was painted when he was on a voyage to visit his two brothers, Frederick and Benjamin, living in Eden, New South Wales.

The owner, in May 2005, kindly sent me a record of this picture before he sold it.
