Port of Batangas welcome arch

THE PORT OF BATANGAS

  A ferries communication tower?

I have included the Port of Batangas here because residents of Lubang pass through there on official business to the regional capital of Occidental Mindoro - Mamburao.

The port is 110 kilometers south of Metro Manila and serves as a major trade gateway for localities at the southern Luzon and nearby provinces. The port is managed by ATI Batangas Inc.

The passenger terminal features:

  • 7 fast craft berths of 540 meter length
  • 6 ro-ro berth of 680-meter length
  • 25,000 sqm marshalling area
  • Air-conditioned passenger terminal
  • 5 passenger boarding bridges.

The passenger terminal handles approximately 2 million embarking passengers annually and services high-speed ferries, small boats and inter-island roll-on/roll-off ferries 24/7.

Early in 2012 RORO ferries ceased operating from Manila to Tilik (Port of Lubang). Efforts to establish a route from Calatagan have not been successful so far, so the Port of Batangas has been considered.
