The Farmer and the Carabao

UNIVERSITY OF THE EASTERN PHILIPPINES - PART 2

Cell phone tower above the university

One aspect of UEP that was very different to me , having been brought up in New Zealand, was the presence of pre-school, Elementary school and High School facilities. This was in keeping with UEP consisting of three Barangays.

The schools are labelled as laboratory schools and appear to play a significant role in preparing university students for a career in teaching.

The College of Education offers the following Courses:
Bachelor degrees in, Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Elementary Education-Home Economics.

Additional degrees are: BSc in Home Economics, Doctor of Philosophy in Education, MA in Education, MA in Teaching and MA in Mathematics Education.

The High School has two curricula:
The Basic Education Curriculum follows the normal Philippine high school curriculum and consists of the sections I-Daisy, II-Chrysanthemum, III-Sampaguita, and IV-Dahlia.
The Science Stream curriculum follows the Philippine science high school curriculum and consists of the sections I-Oxygen, II-Beryllium, III-Copper, and IV-Gold.

Because I required more than one page to illustrate the University, I have included links to the other pages below:
