PUNONG BATO HIDDEN RESORT![]() When I visited this resort in Feb 2016 it was still under a process of construction and development. The tricycle driver who took me there said that it was quite popular amongst the local people. As can be seen from the photo on the left the entrance road is a loosely gravelled dirt track. There are two access roads - one on the Tagbac side of the Airport - the other by the school at Kusang Loob - both approximately 2km. The day we went there the swimming pool was empty - apparently it is filled on a three day cycle - probably fresh water from a bore. I was told by the caretaker that local schools use the pool. A resort is a place frequented by people for relaxation or recreation. In the case of Punong Bato there is provision for swimming, a pavilion for dancing and 'cottages' for conversing, drinking and singing. If you wish you can sing and drink while positioned towards the top of a tree or a cliff. Decidedly more interesting than most beer gardens outside a pub. |
